‘Everybody Has a seat at my table’

To me, it’s a concept and a prayer. It’s the concept of being warm & open with the world and all Earth’s Guests. It’s remembering and honoring that we are all God’s children and we all deserve a seat at the table. I often say, ‘There’s always a seat at my table, and at tables, we have manners and we embody respect & kindness.’

Everybody has a seat at my table is a prayer for people to heal so that when we come to sit at the table, we are able to digest our food and become strong because we are in the presence of love, intimacy and respect. It’s being able to pull up another chair for another friend, someone who is presently alone, someone who needs a friend ~ even someone who hurt us. Every time we sit at the table, we have the opportunity to heal and grow because at tables, we have manners and we embody respect & kindness.

Everybody has a seat at my table is a call to create beauty through the table and the food that we make because beauty on a soul level, demands reverence. It’s a call to look at the world and remember that we are all brothers and sisters and we are all God’s children. It’s a call to continue to heal ourselves everyday, so that when we do arrive at the table, our table can be filled with joy and gratitude and we can talk about & collaborate about high things like purpose and dreams and oneness. It’s a call to come together even with our differences, so that we can make alchemy and continue to make the world a better place, one beautiful meal at a time. Xo, Carly
